Happy 4th of July from beautiful, warm, sunny and happy Maine.
Today is a special day at MTC, as we get to celebrate in grand style, with live music, boat parades, cookouts, dancing and fireworks. Our favorite part of the day is seeing how all the different people and places that make up this camp community come together to celebrate. 4th at camp is diverse, inclusive, welcoming and generous. We know that a community which reflects and celebrates these values, is stronger, more resilient, more creative and more effectively meets the needs of all the members of that community. We celebrate today all the wonderful things about America, and all the ways every member of our camp family contributes to enhancing the experience of each other.
On another note, our 2 Week Session ends this Saturday! It’s hard to believe that 2 weeks have flown by so quickly, although losing track of the days in camp is always a hallmark of a lot of awesome stuff happening, good weather and happy campers. Quite a few of our 2 Week campers have extended their stay until the end of 1st Session, but for those who can’t, we’ll miss them when they leave, and wish them safe travels and a happy remainder of summer.
We hope your 4th of July, or Thursday outside of the US, is as special as ours. We’ll take some great photos throughout the day, be sure to check them out. Have a fun, happy & safe holiday!

Periodically we like to shout our a few campers who've made specific accomplishments at camp and this week we're amazingly excited to tell you about Michaella I. and Nate C. who both learnt to ride a bike at camp after previously never ridden one before! Great job, guys!
Does your camper enjoy sailing, walking around cobblestone streets to do a little shopping, or taking time out to visit one of Maine’s famous lighthouses? If so, they would love the Best of Portland day trip this week. We’ve also got the Best of Boston trip, which also includes a bit of shopping as well as a Duck Tour around Boston and a stop at one of Boston’s best restaurants. Our summer trips are finally underway and we’ve got some great experiences your camper should seriously consider! This upcoming week, we’ve got the Best of Portland, Best of Boston, and the Freeport Shopping trip all going out!
Last, but not least, we also have the trip to Freeport where the campers can enjoy shopping at some great outlets. It’s shaping up to be another beautiful week in the state of Maine, so don’t let your camper miss out on these amazing experiences while they have the chance!
This summer has been off to an amazing start! Beautiful hot sunny days, and cooler nights. Camp has been alive with the sound of fun and excitement during the first activity week. With so much on offer, they truely have been spoiled for choice with a few additions to the first week schedule. From the classics like Ropes, Waterfront, Soccer, Camp Show, Cooking and Tennis. There has also been Flag Football, Ultimate Frisbee, Watercolors and Weights being offered to join Lyrical and Latin Dance, as well our Improv and Standup Comedy classes.
The joy on the campers faces are clear to see, and we are just loving having each of them here enjoying themselves.
Week 1 of Evening Programs provided us with an array of fun activities, amazing memories, and teamwork ranging from here across the globe! After a moving and powerful opening campfire, the campers showed us their knowledge at trivia night! The following evening, they wowed us with their best dance moves and teamwork during our lip sync competition! We were taken back by the talent shared at Rising Stars (keep an eye out for future MTCers, they are going places!) and bedazzled by the artwork of mask making at the masquerade ball.
After a night of dancing and celebrating with friends at the dance, it was time to hit the runway for MTCs project runway, where all cabins got into spirit and created incredible looks. We got into the spider multiverse on movie night the evening of our trip day to Funtown, followed by last nights Zombie Death Trap Dungeon, which was spooky but created the environment to collaborate as a cabin and solve riddles, complete challenges, and create lasting memories as a team. Now it’s time for week 2, get ready, the campers are in for a treat!

We have started the summer off with a bang in the music department with some awesome performances at Campfire and the Rising Stars talent show! Here's a taster of what we’ve been up to this week with a wonderful performance of ‘Here Comes the Sun’ from our period one Group Vocals class.
